Save Tax Payers money - the Bathroom Hosts
There is a shortage of adequate restroom options for those who find themselves traversing or visiting cities - also confirmed by an article in Finland’s public media, Yle. Installing blue plastic boxes/restrooms is not the answer, no matter how innovative, self-cleaning, etc. The answer lies in making use of existing restrooms. Restaurants, cafes, smaller “Mom and Pop” shops all have restrooms. Even private homes have them. By teaming up with the city and the Geme.io app, said establishments are paid by the City to be “bathroom hosts,” an initiative that is already in place in Bremen (Germany) which has saved the city a considerable sum and provided citizens/tourists with the solution they desired – bathrooms! With the Geme.io app, visitors can see which businesses offer restrooms, and the app can monitor usage rates and communicate that information back to city departments in real-time. This allows cleaning companies contracted or City to optimize resources and smartly service WCs.
