Functional City for Mums with KidsÄlykkäämpi
Moving a baby around in an urban environment can be a serious challenge. Moms, dads and passers-by have all been part of the struggle. Strollers are just not conducive to city life-- revolving doors, subway stairs, crowded streets or streets not cleared for snow make it tough to maneuver with a baby in tow. So how would the baby or toddler friendly city look like?
With the help of information from Public Open data and the City e.g, about planned snow clearing of pavements, and other friendly mothers volunteered information, the Geme.io app displays those streets cleared for snow on the virtual map in the app and thereby making the city more functional. Mums can also create location markers for clean toilets both public and in cafes etc, and when being on a playground, they create Gemies (location markers) asking if there are other mums nearby a particular playground with kids aged e.g. 3-4 today, or tomorrow? Contact can be made privately in the app. See: https://geme.io/
